Children’s Books, Social Justice, and Financial Literacy (K-6): February 25, 2021 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Eastern (via Zoom)

Back by popular demand! During this workshop, we will explore children’s books that teach important issues surrounding social justice, race, diversity, and inequality. Literature is a wonderful way to engage students in discussion. When we teach children at an early age about these topics, we help them to make choices so they can be prepared to be a part of the economy. We will discuss how to spot the economic and financial literacy concepts in each story.

Teachers will walk away from this workshop with a list of diverse children’s books and themes that they can use in their classrooms to begin these important conversations. There is no registration fee, and all resources used will be shared with participants at no financial cost.

Teachers will earn 1.5 CEUs for participating.  Graduate credit will also be available to purchase. If you’d like more than one graduate credit, additional assignments will be provided.
