Children’s Books, Social Justice, & Economics/Financial Literacy (K-6) November 16, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. ET (via Zoom)
$0.00 – $1,095.00
During this online workshop, we will explore children’s books that teach important concepts including social justice, race, diversity, and inequality. Literature is a wonderful way to engage students in discussion. When we teach children at an early age about these topics, we help them to make choices so they can be prepared to be a part of the economy. We will discuss how to spot the economic and financial literacy concepts in each story. Teachers will walk away from this workshop with a list of diverse children’s books and themes that they can use in their classrooms to begin these important conversations.
There is no registration fee, and all resources used will be shared with participants at no financial cost. 1.5 CEU’s will be available for participants. Graduate credit will also be available to purchase. If you’d like more than one graduate credit, additional assignments will be provided.
